Disinfecting operating environments

UV-C light and disinfection 

UVD Robots use UV-C light, a particular wavelength of ultraviolet light. Studies show that ultraviolet light can reduce infection rates at much higher levels than other disinfection methods, especially in operating rooms


The UV-C light in UVD Robots is in the 254 nm range, a wavelength found to be an optimal frequency for germicidal effects. This type of UV-C light has been found to be particularly potent against certain viruses, bacteria, and other microorganisms

When UV-C light is applied it kills living bacteria and inactivates viruses by interacting with the RNA and DNA molecules, breaking cells on a microscopic level. UV-C germicidal irradiation peaks at 254 nm wavelength.
