Health Canada has provided UVD Robots with a Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) registration, making the UV-C disinfection robot one of the few UV-C systems eligible for use in Canada.
UVD Robots is pleased to announce that Health Canada has registered UVD Robots’ Ultraviolet “C” light (UV-C) autonomous disinfection robots as eligible for use in clinical settings and other sectors in Canada.

New regulation of UV light
In August 2021, PMRA under Health Canada issued a bulletin announcing new regulations for UV light-emitting decontamination products. The new regulatory process is designed to help consumers and industries choose legitimate and effective UV-C disinfection solutions.
The Canadian Ministry of Health bulletin states:
“Manufacturers of UVC decontamination devices must demonstrate high-level disinfection or sterilization of bacterial spores with an organism that offers a maximum challenge for the chosen technology (i.e., Bacillus subtilis spores) or a scientifically justified surrogate organism (such as Mycobacterium species). A high level of disinfection or sterilization is generally considered to be a minimum 6 log reduction (99.9999%).”
UVD Robots is among the first autonomous UV-C disinfection robots to be registered with PMRA, Health Canada.
