What is the UVD Robot?

The UVD Robot is a robot, or a self-driving device, that uses Ultraviolet C (UV-C) light to
inactivate microorganisms on environmental surfaces. The UVD Robot operates by sensing its environment and moving independently of human interaction, emitting UV-C light that is able to disinfect indoor surfaces. In this way, UVD Robots can effectively distribute UV-C light to different surface areas, and it is able to minimize shadow areas due to its autonomous
(self-driving) abilities.

How long does it take for the UVD Robot to disinfect a room?

The UVD Robot can disinfect a 25m2 (269 sq ft) room in approximately 10 minutes or less in its autonomous disinfection mode.

How can UV-C light disinfect a room?

UV-C light, at the germicidal wavelength, is absorbed into the microorganism and alters the genetic makeup (DNA/RNA) inhibiting their replication. The organism will no longer replicate and lead to eventual cell death.

Does the UVD Robot disinfect everything in the room?

The UVD Robot will disinfect any hard, non-porous area that the UV-C light hits. This includes floors, walls, and other stationary objects.
